Resources for Students with Caring Responsibilities

Students with caring responsibilities are now able to access Carers UK resources. The relevant portal has not yet been added to the Student Support Hub, but students can access the Digital Resource for Carers website (carersdigital.org) and create an account by logging in with their University email address and the following unique access code: DRCA1905.

Students can also access the jointly app:

Jointly is designed to make sharing caring responsibilities easier and more organised, by combining group messaging and to-do lists with other useful features, including medication lists, calendar, and more.

Creating a Jointly account is free and easy with the following steps:

1. Download the app or visit www.jointlyapp.com to sign up.
2. Input your name, email, choose a password, and press ‘Sign up’.
3. Click ‘Create a new circle’ and select ‘Use Free Access Code’.
4. Enter the code DRCA1905 and click ‘Redeem’.
5. You’re all set! Log in with your registration details on Jointly’s website or through the Jointly app to start make caring a little easier and less stressful.

Students who are carers are also able to contact Rowena Bletcher (rowena.bletcher@sheffield.ac.uk), who is the named contact for carers in Student Support Services.
