Inspiring Student Worker Awards 2025 - Open Now

The University of Sheffield Careers & Employability Service is pleased to announce that nominations for the Inspiring Student Worker Awards 2025 are open!

The Inspiring Student Worker awards recognise University of Sheffield students who have excelled in the workplace through a part-time job, short-term internship, vacation work or a summer placement. Students will be awarded for going above and beyond the role on a regular basis, exceeding expectations on a given project and/or making a significant contribution that has had a positive impact on the organisation.
They also recognise outstanding employers who have offered transformative employment opportunities to University of Sheffield students; who have provided an exceptional commitment to training/development; support diversity initiatives; been flexible around the student's studies; and/or understands the importance of skills development for the student's future career.

Winners of each category will receive a prize.

How do I nominate?

As a student you can nominate your employer and as an employer you can nominate a student worker via the nomination form. You will receive confirmation of your nomination via email. Please check your spam folder if it does not appear in your inbox. Your nomination will be dependent on whether the eligibility criteria has been met. This will be checked once the nomination has been received.
How do I tell my employer about these awards?

The Careers & Employability Service will notify all their employer contacts who have advertised work through Career Connect over the last year, but you can also raise awareness of the award with your employer by sharing the nomination form.

Closing Date: Sunday 23rd March 2025

There will be an evening of celebration for nominees and nominators where we will announce the winners of each category. This will take place on the afternoon of Monday 12th May 2025.
