This dynamic 45-minute session will introduce students to the transformative role generative AI plays in the legal profession. Participants will gain insight into how A&O Shearman is leading the charge with tools like Harvey and explore real-world examples of AI in action. Students will also learn how to navigate the use of AI in their legal journey – from applications to assessments – with a focus on ethics, accuracy and professional judgement.
LawCareers.Net masterclass: understanding legal practice – financial services
This LawCareers.Net masterclass, sponsored by Osborne Clarke LLP and more firms to be confirmed, will discuss what it’s really like to be a lawyer working in financial services. Students will hear from our panel of expert lawyers on what it actually means to work in financial services, from the laws and regulations that govern investment banks and hedge funds, to major M&A deals and private equity co-investments. Students will also learn what it’s like to practise within the financial industry and the types of clients they'll be dealing with.

This LawCareers.Net masterclass, sponsored by Bristows LLP and more firms to be confirmed, will discuss what it’s really like to work in intellectual property (IP). From patents to trademarks, students can find out what IP means, what work lawyers in this area undertake and what types of clients they work with.
Applications are now open for LawCareersNetLIVE – a must-attend event for aspiring lawyers that unpacks the skills, attributes and techniques that are necessary to launch a career at a commercial law firm.
