Nominations for Inner Temple Dinner to the Universities 2026

Please use this form to put yourself forward for a place at Inner Temple’s annual Dinner to the Universities, which will be taking place on Monday 9th March 2026. The aim of the dinner is to introduce the Inn to undergraduates who are interested in a career at the Bar. 

The Dinner

This event is a fantastic networking opportunity for any aspiring barrister, and we have been allocated two places. It is also possible that we may be given two reserve places (which will become available only if there is sufficient space) for students at the University of Sheffield. Dr Jackson Allen, the Bar Careers Lead, will use the responses to this form to decide which two students are nominated, in line with the criteria and priorities set out below. 

All undergraduates within the School are welcome to apply, as long as they meet the criteria below .The dinner will be held in the Inner Temple Hall in London, where undergraduates will have the opportunity to meet practising members (barristers and judges) to discuss the Bar. The format of the evening is as follows:

16:30-16:45 Attendees arrive at the Inner Temple
17:00-18:15 Panel discussion with practising barristers and judges
18:30-19:30 Drinks reception
19:30-22:00 Dinner

To give as many students as possible the opportunity to attend, the dinner is strictly open to undergraduates who: i) are interested in a career as a barrister; ii) have not attended a previous dinner at Inner Temple; and iii) are not already a member of an Inn of Court. 

Travel and accommodation subsidy

The dinner will take place on a Monday night in London, and it is recognised that this may present a significant financial obstacle to students who would otherwise be interested in attending. 

In line with our commitment to widening participation and increasing accessibility to careers opportunities, the School of Law will therefore be providing return train tickets to London and one night of overnight accommodation there for any students who are selected (including reserve places, if we are allocated any). 

Applying for a place

If you meet these criteria, please use the form below to apply. In line with Inner Temple's guidance on allocating places, we will be giving priority to students who have no familial connection to the Bar, and to those who attended non-fee paying schools (i.e. state schools, including grammars / academies). However, all who meet the above criteria are welcome to apply. 

The deadline to submit your responses is Monday 15th December 2025 at 12 noon GMT. Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered, so please make sure to submit on time.
