PL&B Student Essay Competition 2026
The 2026 Privacy Laws & Business Student Essay Competition, in association with The University of Nottingham Law and Tech Research Centre.
Open to all final year undergraduates, postgraduates and PhD students.
We invite eligible students to submit an essay of 1,500 words answering the question:
“Should the EU’s adequacy criteria for international data transfers be changed? If so, how?”
The deadline for entering essays for the competition is 26 February 2026, and the top 3 essays will be announced on 30 March.
The winner of the competition will receive a free place at the prestigious 3-day PL&B 39th International Conference in Cambridge, UK, 6-8 July 2026 where we will recognise the winner’s achievement.
The essay will be published on the PL&B website and possibly in the leading professional publication Privacy Laws & Business International Report.
2 Runners-Up will gain online access to the conference.
All entrants will receive a free PDF copy of the latest PL&B International and UK Reports.
