Up to 70 hour legal internship (Unpaid) with BRM
7 hours per day (9.30-4.30) over 7 wks + 3 optional
The role
BRM are offering a University of Sheffield final year LLB student a 70 hour internship/work shadowing opportunity.
Spread over approximately 7 weeks (1 day per week) with an option for 3 additional weeks, the successful applicant will spend time learning from solicitors and legal professionals about the key areas BRM practice in, including Employment, Commercial Property, Litigation, Corporate, and Private Client (Wills and Probate, and Contentious Probate:
Whilst there are no guarantees of a job at the end of the opportunity, BRM have expressed to us that it is essential that the successful candidate:
Is intending to progress to solicitor role rather than barrister and with a focus in practice areas offered by BRM.
Has a clear and demonstrable interest in remaining in the region (South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire) after graduation.
Has not already accepted a job offer for a post-graduation role
Has some customer-facing work experience (not necessarily legal). (assessed at application/interview)
Is on track for a 2:1 at time of application (Assessed by UoS and not shared with BRM unless referenced on CV)
Has the ability to travel to both Sheffield and Chesterfield offices. (Support available from the University for reasonable travel expenses)
Has the right to work in the UK

BRM are a Sheffield and Chesterfield-based law firm with a strong focus on many specialist areas of commercial and private client law.
The roots of what is now BRM can be traced back to the late 60s. A series of mergers throughout the 1990s and 2000s have ultimately led us to today's position as one of the leading law firms in the South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire area.
