What is the role:
· During the two-year training contract, trainees will typically undertake 5-6 seats within Bristows’ core departments.
· All trainees will gain experience in Intellectual Property law, including a guaranteed 6-month seat in Patent Litigation.

Who can apply:
· The Training Contract is open to penultimate year law students and all final year students and graduates from any degree.
· To be considered for a training contract commencing in 2028, please submit your application by 02 January 2026.
· Bristows also have spots available in their 2027 cohort. To be considered for a 2027 start date, you must be a final year law student or a non-law student that has already completed the PGDL by September 2026.
The application process:
· All application forms are reviewed by Bristows trainee recruitment team and a selection will be invited to complete recorded video interviews.
· The assessment process includes:
o Two interview rounds with Senior Associates and Partners.
o A problem exercise and a written exercise.
o Bristows do not ask candidates to complete any group exercises or psychometric testing in their process – they prefer getting to know each candidate as an individual.
· All elements of the assessment process are flexible to suit any reasonable adjustments required by applicants with disabilities, so please flag any adjustments needed with the trainee recruitment team.
