Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) - Information Stands in the Students’ Union

 What: Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) - Information Stands (delivered by current students and DDSS staff)

 

When: You are welcome to drop in any time during the following sessions:

  • Thursday 5 February, 11am – 1pm
  • Friday 6 February, 11am – 1pm
  • Wednesday 11 February, 10am – 4pm

 

Where: The Students’ Union Plaza (near the Welcome Desk in the main entrance foyer) 

 

DDSS is a friendly and confidential service that provides advice and support for disabled students. 

 

We support all students who: 

  • have a specific learning difficulty (SpLD)/learning difference like dyslexia or dyspraxia
  • have a mental health condition such as depression or an anxiety disorder
  • have a long-standing illness or health condition like epilepsy or chronic fatigue syndrome 
  • are autistic 
  • have ADHD
  • have a physical impairment or mobility difficulty
  • are blind or partially sighted
  • are D/deaf or hearing impaired
  • have a speech, language or communication difficulty (e.g. a stammer)
  • have any other long-term impairment or condition that has an impact on your studies

 

Are you a student who:

  • Hasn't set up your DDSS support yet?
  • Would like to chat with other students about their experience of accessing DDSS?
  • Isn't sure if you're eligible for support?
  • Would like to know more about the types of support available?
  • Thinks you might have ADHD, autism, or a specific learning difference (SpLD), like dyslexia?
  • Has any questions about DDSS? 

 

If so, come and chat with us at one of our information stands! 

 

All students from every course and level of study are welcome.
