Applications to The Oxford Winter Neuroethics School 2026 are OPEN

After a successful inaugural year, the Oxford Winter Neuroethics School (OWNS) is open for applications for 2026!

OWNS is an intensive, hyrbid programme designed to explore cutting-edge research in the ethics of neuroscience, psychiatry and mental health - or Neuroethics, for short. 


Led by experts from the University of Oxford’s Neuroscience, Ethics and SocietyTeam, the course brings together distinguished Neuroethics researchers from around the globe, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage with leaders in the field. 


The lecturers for our course come from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including philosophy, applied ethics, neurology, clinical psychology, and moral psychology.

 

The course adopts an interactive hands-on approach to learning the various research and practical skills necessary for pursuing interdisciplinary work in Neuroethics. 


Online modules (Nov-Dec 2026) will include guided exercises in applying research methods to real-world neuroethical issues.


The course will culminate in a three-day, in-person Learning Accelerator at an Oxford college (Jan 2027) where participants will get a chance to share research insights, network with researchers and industry professionals in related fields, and receive feedback from course lecturers. 

 

Applications are now open and must be received by 30 June 2026. 


We are committed to providing a limited number of scholarships for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds within Neuroethics who would be unable to attend OWNS without financial support. You must also be either a Student, Postgraduate or Early-Career Professional.
