COMM3131 Special Topic in Communication Studies I: Online Dating and Hook-up Culture explores online dating and hookup culture from interdisciplinary communication, social, and cultural perspectives. The course covers topics such as online relationship development, motivations for app use, app design, gender dynamics, and queer digital spaces. Students will learn how digital relationships form, understand key theories behind dating app design, identify opportunities and challenges for different users, and develop a responsible approach to using online dating platforms. |
